Age 28, Kevin has been performing professionally since age 15. A bassist
of great versatility and dimension, Kevin has the unique ability to step
into nearly any musical situation and make it come together instantly.
He has had the opportunity to perform in almost every state in the United
States (41 at last count) and in 8 different countries on 4 different
continents, sometimes as a member of his own group, but also backing many
prominent artists of the past and of the present. Kevin has played behind
such well known names as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Little Anthony
and the Imperials, Tony Macalpine, The Coasters, The Drifters, Lou Christie,
The Tokens, Bowser, The Marvellettes, The Shangri-La's, Artension, Ted
Nugent and many others.In addition to being an in demand session player and sideman, Kevin is a composer and artist in his own right. His debut release "Freudian Slip" was released in 1996 on Legato Records. Kevin also composes music for many commercial and industrial applications. His music has been featured by many corporate clients such as Little Caesar's Pizza, The Detroit Red Wings, The Weather Channel, Music Choice, DMX, The Detroit Tigers and The Detroit Rockers.
Kevin originally hails from Detroit, MI. While there he attended Wayne State University, earning his Bachelors Degree in Jazz Studies from its well known music program. While performing with the Wayne State Jazz Lab Band at the 1993 Montreaux Detroit Jazz Festival, Kevin was named Instrumental Soloist of the year, the ONLY bassist to ever win this prestigious award. Wayne State also gave Kevin the chance to perform behind some of the most prominent names in modern jazz who would appear as guest artists, such as Jon Faddis, Gregg Bisonette, Richard Margitza and George Benson.
Currently, Kevin is living and working in Los Angeles, CA. He is busy completing the follow up release to his debut record, tentatively titled "The Promise". Kevin has been slowly moving toward a very modern sound with his music, melding together soaring melodies with tight, funky grooves. Kevin also stays busy as a sideman, performing a wide array of live music as a bassist and a vocalist. From classic rock, R+B, blues and soul, to jazz and straight ahead casuals, Kevin is a Bassist always on the move, always in demand, and always keeping things in the pocket!
